One morning a week makes all the difference for Christians. Worship on Sunday mornings restores our lives and sets the tone for the week. As you prepare for worship let these words permeate your soul: Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you. (Psalm 89:14)Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord. (Psalm 89:15)
The Lord is our firm foundation, a foundation built on righteousness and justice. Our praise and adoration rise to the heavens because of this assurance. We know that "all things will work for good" (Paul writes in Romans 8:28) because of this righteousness and justice. Therefore, let us continue to declare his praises.
At the same time, our lives are blessed as we worship him. We read in the next verse:
We are blessed as we worship him and his glory, the light of his presence shines around us! God renews us and puts a fresh dose of his glory upon us. Now I know why I feel so energized and encouraged as a result of my expressions of worship.
Worship is our privilege and our desire as we consider who God is. The benefits and blessings we receive constantly amaze me.
Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. Bask in the light of his presence. Be blessed in every way as you worship him today.
Reach for encouragement. To his glory.
